Yograj Singh Reveals a Message He Gave to Arjun Tendulkar

In preparation for the Ranji Trophy, it was reported that Sachin Tendulkar reached out to Yograj Singh in hopes that the former cricketer would train his son. Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun, has yet to play for Mumbai and wanted to excel in the domestic season for Goa.
The reason that Sachin had made a request for Yograj to train Arjun was due to the fact that the 64-year-old has prior experience coaching youngsters including his own son, Yuvraj Singh.
Before retiring, Yograj played one Test and six One Day Internationals for India as a right-arm fast-medium bowler. In the course of his career, Yograj won 7 Player of the Series awards in ODI cricket. When his career ended because of an injury, he entered Punjabi cinema and Hindi cinema.
When talking about his training sessions with Arjun, Yograj mentioned the kind of talent Arjun Tendulkar possesses and revealed what he said to the 23-year-old on their first meeting.
He had stated, “Just forget you are the son of a legend called Sachin Tendulkar. You have your own identity. Just come tomorrow and start training. I will train you for 15 days.”
The former player also talked about how Arjun was a quick learner and even stated that the youngster had the ability to become the world’s best all-rounder. In addition to being impressed with Arjun, Yograj expressed that he saw similarities between the player and his son.
Yograj’s son, Yuvraj Singh is a former Indian international cricketer who played in all formats of the game. It was in 2019 that Yuvraj announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket. However, there has been recent hints on the player’s comeback. Though there is no concrete details on when exactly that will be.
The Chandigarh-born cricketer also said, “One day, the world will remember his name the way they remember Sachin's name. Arjun will become the most destructive batsman in the world.”
Arjun Tendulkar is a left-handed medium fast bowler and left-handed lower order batsman that played for Mumbai cricket team and its junior teams. He now plays for Goa cricket team in domestic cricket.
Recently, the player scored his maiden century in first-class cricket (120 runs off 207 deliveries) for Goa against Rajasthan at the Ranji Trophy match in Porvorim. In addition, Arjun built a 221-run partnership with Suyash Prabhudessai (212 off 416). With this achievement, Arjun has matched his father Sachin Tendulkar's feat of scoring a century on a first-class debut.
Sachin Tendulkar is a former captain the Indian national team. In the course of his career, Sachin has become all time highest run-scorer in both ODI and Test Format with more than 18,000 runs and 15,000 runs respectively in total.
Goa’s latest match was against Jharkhand, and they won by 155-runs. Their next match will be December 27 against Karnataka. Currently, Goa ranks third in the standings with a total of 3 points. Goa has the chance to rise up in the ranks until the end of the group stages, which is on January 25.
