Varun Chakravarthy Emotional After IPL Win
Varun Chakravarthy, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner, has been performing exceptionally well in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He recently helped his team secure a win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by taking 3 wickets for 27 runs in his four overs. Despite his outstanding performance, Varun was emotional after the match as he has not been able to see his newborn son yet.
During a post-match interview with Harsha Bhogle, Varun dedicated his Player of the Match award to his newborn son, saying, "I'd like to credit this to my newborn son, still not able to see him, I'd like to dedicate it to him and my wife."
When asked when he would get to see his son, Varun replied that he would have to wait until after the IPL.
Harsha Bhogle made a plea to KKR CEO Venk Mysore to allow Varun to go home and see his son in between a couple of games. This heartfelt plea highlights the challenges that players face when they are away from their families for extended periods.
Varun's dedication to his family is admirable, and it is essential to acknowledge the sacrifices that players make to play in the IPL. It is not easy to be away from loved ones for an extended period, and players must find ways to cope with this challenging situation.
Varun's performance in the IPL has been impressive, and he has shown tremendous potential as a spinner. Speaking about his game, he said, "More focused on accuracy rather than more variations. I didn't want to add more variations. I have been working a lot and I'd like to credit AC Pratheepan - he's been working for me and even Abhishek Nayar. I'd like to thank them."
He also expressed his liking for the challenge of bowling the difficult overs and how he relishes the opportunity to help his team in any way possible. "I like that challenge (to bowl the difficult overs) and Nitish is giving the ball whenever he wants me to do the job, I am liking it," he said.
The IPL has always been a platform for young and talented cricketers to showcase their skills and make a name for themselves. Varun is one such player who has made a mark with his impressive performances. His dedication to his family and his game is an inspiration to many, and he serves as an excellent role model for aspiring cricketers.
The IPL has also been a source of controversy, with concerns being raised about player burnout and scheduling conflicts. It is important for the organizers to consider the welfare of the players and ensure that they are not overworked or subjected to unreasonable demands.
Varun Chakravarthy's dedication to his family and his game is admirable. Despite being away from his newborn son, he continues to give his best on the field and is a valuable asset to his team. As the IPL continues, it is essential to remember that behind the glitz and glamour of the tournament, there are real people with real emotions and families who sacrifice a lot for the love of the game.
