Touching Moment Shared Between Kohli and LSG Mentor

The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru witnessed a nail-biting encounter between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Monday, April 10. The game had everything that cricket fans could hope for - stunning batting performances, a tense finish, and an unexpected twist in the tale.
In the end, it was Lucknow Super Giants who emerged victorious with a one-wicket win off the last ball, thanks to an incredible batting effort from Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis.
While the win was undoubtedly a team effort, LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir was particularly animated in his celebrations after the match. His energetic and passionate display of emotion was caught on camera, and it quickly went viral on social media.
Another memorable moment from the win was the heartwarming moment when LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir hugged senior RCB batter Virat Kohli after the match.

A Hug of Friendship
For those who have followed the IPL over the years, the Gambhir-Kohli rivalry is no secret. The two Delhi boys had a public spat during the 2013 edition of the IPL, which left a bitter taste in their relationship. However, on Monday, the pictures of Gambhir and Kohli hugging each other and having a chat went viral on social media.
The LSG social media team shared the pictures with a beautiful caption that read, "This is IPL my friend, only love." The gesture from Gambhir and Kohli shows the spirit of the IPL, where fierce rivals on the field can share a moment of camaraderie and respect off the field.
Last Time a Hug Went Viral
This scene is not the first time that Kohli has gone viral on social media for a hug. Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) stole the show at the IPL 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday night at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
After KKR's massive win, SRK met every player on the field from both sides and shared a hug with RCB's batting maestro Virat Kohli.
In a viral video, the duo was seen trying the popular dance step from Shah Rukh's movie Pathaan.
Aside from touching moments on social media, Kohli left the world of cricket in awe after his spectacular batting performance on Sunday. Kohli's unbeaten 82 off 49 balls, in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Mumbai Indians, helped RCB chase down the 172-run target with ease.
As a result, the player received plenty of praise for his performance. While the team did not win, Kohli and his team still received praise for their effort.
Post-Match Statements and Results
Speaking at the post-match presentation, LSG skipper KL Rahul described the emotions after the incredible win as "unbelievable." He praised the lower-order batsmen for their exceptional effort, and stated that batting at numbers 5, 6, and 7 is the toughest position to play.
LSG's win takes them to the top of the IPL 2023 points table with three wins from four games. With three wins from four games and a net run rate of +1.048, they are looking like a team to watch out for this season.
