Cricket is a sport that not everyone is familiar with but there are people who love it. There are even some celebrities who love the sport. From actors to comedians and musicians, there are a variety of famous people that are fond of cricket:


1. Hugh Jackman

One of the more prominent actors in Hollywood that loves cricket is Hugh Jackman. Hugh Jackman is widely known for playing Wolverine in the “X-Men” movie series. The famous Aussie actor confessed his love for cricket in an interview in 2012.


"I used to come to every day of every Test match ... all day long you're hearing people yell out: 'Have a go, have a go you mug' ... it's not just enough to win, it was more your attitude that people loved and I always say that is something great about Australia,” he said.


According to reports, the actor had grown close to former Australian cricketer Shane Warne. When Warne passed away at 52, it was reported that Jackman gave a heartfelt eulogy.


2. Shahrukh Khan

Aside from Hollywood actors, some Bollywood actors like Shahrukh Khan also love cricket. Shahrukh Khan is a legendary and multi-winning Bollywood actor who made his debut with the commercially successful film Deewana (1992).


The actor co-owns the Indian Premier League franchise Kolkata Knight Riders and can invariably be seen at Test matches in his homeland supporting the India team.


3. Piers Morgan

Other than big stars, famous people like Piers Morgan is a known lovers of cricket. The former editor of the Daily Mirror, and now the host of Piers Morgan Live on CNN, has always retained a strong interest in the sport.


It was once reported that Morgan got star England batsman Kevin Pietersen to turn out for his local village team in 2008.

Prominent musicians like Mick Jagger have also shown a love for cricket. In 1997, the lead vocalist of the Rolling Stones set up his own internet company called Jagged Internetworks. This internet company was to watch England play a one-day international tournament in Sharjah.


5. Russell Crowe

Among the famous people that love cricket, one person who has a close relationship with cricket is Russell Crowe. The famous Oscar-winning New Zealander actor is a cousin of former Kiwi skippers Martin and Jeff Crowe.

6. Daniel Radcliffe

Radcliffe also professed his affection for India and revealed that he has an autograph from India’s Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
