Tilak Varma Reveals Advice Shared by Rohit Sharma
Mumbai Indians' newest batting sensation, Tilak Varma, has revealed that he received advice from two of the greatest Indian cricketers, Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma, who urged him to stay focused and maintain a clear mindset on the field.
The 20-year-old Hyderabad-born hitter has impressed cricket fans and pundits alike with his remarkable batting exploits in the ongoing IPL 2023. Mumbai Indians secured the young talent's services at the IPL 2022 auction, and since then, he has played a vital role in the team's success.
Tilak's Performance
Tilak, who made his IPL debut in Hyderabad, said that he is always comfortable playing in any situation and that he has worked on his game, taking into account all possible scenarios. He added that he always tells the management that he is confident to bat anywhere and in any situation. So they are also confident and hence send him out to bat.
Tilak said that with his training, work ethic, and fitness conditioning, he was always comfortable in any position in the batting order. He stated that he was happy to bat at any position for his team and that he wanted to contribute to the team's success in any way he can.

When asked about the difference between the last season and the current one, Tilak said that the team always supported him and helped him mature as a player. He added that the team treated him in a way that he never felt like a newcomer or a youngster on the team.
Tilak credited Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma for guiding him with valuable advice. Sachin Tendulkar told him to have a clear mindset, whether he scored runs or not, while Rohit Sharma advised him to put a smile on his face and give his 100 percent into what he is doing.

This is not the first time that Tilak has talked about words of encouragement from Sharma.
Back in 2022, the Mumbai Indians had a disappointing campaign in the IPL. However, Tilak turned this around for the team and gave a strong performance with a consistent scoring of 307 runs in 9 matches at an average of 43.86.
At the time, Sharma advised Varma to enjoy the game and not take pressure in any situation. Varma said that these words have helped him a lot and will stay with him for life. Despite the team's poor results, Sharma advised Varma not to change anything and keep enjoying himself. Varma's performances in the 2022 IPL caught the attention of many and he is considered one of the future stars of Indian cricket.
