Anticipation was high for the Sri Lanka VS Netherlands match. With Sri Lanka’s unexpected loss against Namibia, the team was amped to win and qualify for the Super 12. There was plenty of fight from both sides, but in the end, Sri Lanka snatched their spot in the Super 12s with a win by 1 -runs.

For the first 10 overs of the game, Sri Lanka were pushed back as Netherlands restricted their run rate. It was Kusal Mendis and Charith Asalanka who managed to turn the tides in the latter half of the game. Especially with Kusal Mendis’ 79 runs securing the team’s win.

Fortunately, for the Netherlands they qualified for the Super 12 thanks to UAE’s surprise win over Namibia. The Dutch will play in Group 2 alongside India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
