Shoaib Malik On Rumours About His Relationship With Wife Sania Mirza
Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza are undoubtedly one of the most famous power couples in the world of sports. Their relationship has been the subject of speculation and rumours in the past, but the couple has always remained tight-lipped about their personal life. Recently, Malik broke his silence on the rumours about their relationship, and his response put an end to all the speculations.
During an interview on Geo News programme 'Score,' Malik was asked about the rumours of a rift in his relationship with Sania. "Khabre chal rahi hai, taluqat acche nahi hai (Rumours are going around that all's not well in the relationship). What do you want to say?" the anchor asked.
Malik replied, "Nothing on it. On Eid, I would like to say that had we been together, it would have been great. But she has got commitments in IPL. She is doing shows in IPL. That's why we are not together. We share love like always. I miss her a lot, that I can say." He also added that they do not pay heed to such rumours and that is why neither he released a statement nor did she.
Malik's response was heartwarming, and it showed the love and respect that he has for his wife. Sania is currently busy with her commitments in the Indian Premier League (IPL) where she is working as a commentator. Her fans are eagerly waiting for her to return to the court, but she has not announced any plans to do so.
Sania is one of the greatest tennis players to emerge from India, and her career has been nothing short of phenomenal. She has won six Grand Slam titles in her career, including three women's doubles titles with Swiss legend Martina Hingis. She has also won two of her three mixed doubles titles with compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi (2009 Australian Open and 2012 French Open) and the US Open trophy with Bruno Soares.
Sania announced her retirement from singles tennis in 2013, but she continued to play doubles until earlier this year. Her last match as a professional tennis player was at the WTA Dubai Duty-Free Championships in February this year, where she suffered a first-round defeat with her American partner Madison Keys.
Despite retiring from professional tennis, Sania remains an inspiration to millions of young girls in India and around the world. She has broken several barriers and has shown that women can excel in sports just as well as men. Her achievements on and off the court have made her a role model for many, and her contribution to Indian tennis will always be remembered.
