Shikhar Dhawan Shares Photo With A Bollywood Star

While on break from all cricket formats, Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan recently shared a picture with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. The post was shared on the player's Instagram page and has gained over two hundred thousand likes.
The post read, “With an amazing person Inside Out @akshaykumar,” and featured Shikhar Dhawan posing with Akshay Kumar.
This post is not the first time Dhawan and Kumar have posed together in a photo. In February 2021, during India's tour of Australia, the cricket player and Bollywood star shared a photo in front of a lake. At the time, Akshay Kumar was shooting for his next Bachchan Pandey film.
The post read, "Always a fun time with you paaji, Lovely meeting you."
Akshay Kumar's Work Status and History
Currently, Kumar is busy promoting his film ‘Selfiee’. The film is an official Hindi remake of the Malayalam film ‘Driving License.' 'Driving License' is a 2019 comedy-drama film that starred Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles.
'Selfiee' is an upcoming comedy-drama film directed by Raj Mehta. It stars Emraan Hashmi, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and Diana Penty in the lead roles and is set to hit the theatres on February 24.
Aside from this film, Akshay Kumar has appeared in over 100 films and has won several awards in 30 years of acting. These awards include two National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards.
Shikhar Dhawan's Cricket Status and Records
Meanwhile, reports say Dhawan will lead Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2023. Sources also say he will be looking for another breakthrough year in the tournament, having scored 375 runs in 14 games last year.
Currently, Dhawan is the second-highest run-scorer in IPL history. Aside from this, Shikhar is considered one of the best Indian openers, especially in ODIs.
The left-handed opener has represented the side in 167 ODIs and 68 T20Is so far while making 34 appearances in the longest cricket format. During his career, the player amassed 6244 runs in 206 games, including 47 fifties and two centuries. He is only behind Virat Kohli, who has scored 6624 runs in 223 matches.
Why Has Shikhar Dhawan Not Played in India's Latest Games?
Earlier this year, Dhawan was dropped from Team India across all cricket formats. Initially, the left-hander was limited to playing only ODIs for Team India. After a prolonged poor run of form, reports say Dhawan is no longer in the BCCI's (Board of Control for Cricket in India) plans going into the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 at home.
Sources say that the player had made a post responding to being dropped, but it has since been deleted.
Team India's Current Status
Team India is currently playing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, a Test series between India and Australia. The 2nd test of the series recently ended with India leading the series 2-0. The next Test will be from March 1 to 5. Then the final Test will be from March 9 to 13. Following the Test series, India and Australia will play against each other in an ODI series starting on March 17.
