Shaheen Afridi Confirmed to Wed Shahid Afridi’s Daughter on Feb 3

It’s official; Shaheen Shah Afridi will be getting married to Shahid Afridi’s daughter, Ansha Afridi, on February 3, 2023. According to a source close to the Afridi family, the nikah ceremony will be held in Karachi before the next season of the Pakistan Super League starts.

The two have been engaged since May 2021. At the time, it was the young pacer’s father, Ayaz Khan who had revealed the news to the media. He stated that Shahid Afridi’s family had agreed to the proposal, and the former Pakistani cricketer even released a statement on Twitter.

The post was sent this March and held the caption: “Shaheen's family approached my family for my daughter. Both families are in touch, matches are made in heaven, if Allah wills this match will be made too. My prayers are with Shaheen for his continued success on and off the field.”

During the revelation of the engagement, Shahid Afridi also confirmed that the Afridi’s have eight tribes and the pair belong to different tribes.

In an interview in July, Shaheen expressed it was his wish to marry Ansha. And he is happy that his wish is being fulfilled by the grace of God. When questioned about the response from his female fanbase, the player evaded the question and simply responded, "I found my heart, and that's enough for me."

Shaheen Shah Afridi is a Pakistani professional cricketer who made his international debut for Pakistan in April 2018. The teenager recorded Pakistan's best-ever World Cup bowling figures with a scintillating spell of 6-35 win over Bangladesh at Lord's.

However, Afridi recently injured himself in the T20 final against England. It was during the player’s third over that he got forced off the field after landing on his right knee while taking a catch to dismiss Harry Brook.

Following this and just after the player was given rest for his knee injury, Afridi had to be rushed to the hospital in Islamabad for an appendicitis operation. At the time, it was said that the player would unlikely return to international cricket until April 2023.

During his recovery, Afridi posted an update on his Twitter with the caption “Had an appendectomy today but Alhumdulillah feeling better. Remember me in your prayers.”

For now, it is said that Shaheen plays for the national cricket team as well as PSL’s Lahore Qalandars alongside Haris Rauf, Fakhar Zaman, Afghan Rashid Khan, Abdullah Shafique, David Wiese, Kamran Ghulam, Harry Brook, Jordan Cox, Liam Dawson, Sikandar Raza, Hussain Talat, Dilbar Hussain, Tahir Baig, Ahmed Daniyal, Shawaiz Irfan and Jalat Khan.

The 2023 Pakistan Super League (also known as PSL 8 or, for sponsorship reasons, HBL PSL 2023) will run from February 9 to March 19, 2023.

Shahid Afridi, on the other hand, is a former Pakistani cricketer and captain of the Pakistan national cricket team. He holds several achievements including being the youngest player to score a hundred and hitting the most sixes in a career.

In addition to Shaheen Shah Afridi, another Pakistani player is getting married, and that is Haris Rauf. Haris Rauf is the team’s speedster, and while there are no full details on who the bride is, it is confirmed that he will be tying the knot on December 24 while the actual wedding festivities, such as the reception and valima will take place a year later. - sponsored ad
