Shah Rukh Khan Joins Flag Hoisting in Independence Day

On the 77th Independence Day, Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan commemorated the occasion in the company of his family at their residence in Mumbai, known as Mannat. Accompanied by his wife Gauri Khan and their youngest child, AbRam Khan, Shah Rukh revealed that it was AbRam's suggestion to once again raise the Tricolour on their terrace, mirroring a tradition they had observed the previous year.

“Now the little one has made it a tradition. Hoisting of our beloved Tricolour and wishing everyone Happy Independence Day. Love to all and may our country, India prosper and all of us with it,” wrote Shah Rukh with a picture and video from the ceremony.

In the shared photo, Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, and AbRam were elegantly dressed in white attire, striking a pose next to the National Flag. In a corresponding video, Shah Rukh could be seen paying his respects to the flag, with their staff members joining in the salute. However, Shah Rukh's older children, Aryan and Suhana, were not present for the ceremony. Suhana was engaged with her fellow cast members from The Archies, commemorating Independence Day in her own way.

The actor's admirers also extended their heartfelt 'Happy Independence Day' wishes. One fan remarked, "Bharat ki shaan (India's pride) Shah Rukh Khan," while another individual shared, "Humara independence day ab ho gya (Our Independence Day is now complete)."

Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, Shah Rukh Khan extended greetings and waved to the multitude of fans gathered outside Mannat. Accompanied by his young son, AbRam, he engaged in warm interactions with the enthusiastic crowd.

In a prior instance on Tuesday, Shah Rukh Khan also changed his profile picture on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter) to the tricolour, in line with the 'Har Ghar Tiranga campaign'. Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of India's Independence Day, the campaign encourages citizens to display the Indian flag on their social media profiles.

Other celebrities also utilized social media to share snapshots and videos featuring the national flag. Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal proudly hoisted the flag on their balcony. Alongside a photo of herself and Vicky gazing at the flag, Katrina wrote, "Happy Independence Day."

Shilpa Shetty proudly raised the National Flag at her residence, accompanied by her mother and son, Viaan. The family also united in singing the National Anthem, "Jana Gana Mana."

Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming appearance is in the action-packed thriller "Jawan," scheduled to hit theaters on September 7. Directed by Atlee, the movie boasts an ensemble cast featuring Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and Sanya Malhotra in pivotal roles. Early indications from advance bookings in the USA, Germany, and the Netherlands are showing promising results. While the film will be released in 3D, the 3D version is exclusively available for the Indian audience and won't be released overseas.

Recently, the film's creators unveiled the romantic track "Chaleya," which was met with a positive reception from the audience. In addition to "Jawan," Shah Rukh is set to star in director Rajkumar Hirani's upcoming project "Dunki," opposite Taapsee Pannu. The official release date for the film is still pending.
