Sachin Tendulkar Unveils Marathi Film
Mumbai, India - Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has announced that the Marathi film "Baipan Bhari Deva" will be released in cinemas on June 30th. The announcement was made on International Women's Day, and Tendulkar took to his social media accounts to share the poster of the upcoming film, which celebrates the strength and resilience of women.
What is the Film?
The Jio Studios' production is directed by Kedar Shinde and features an impressive cast that includes Rohini Hattangadi, Vandana Gupte, Sukanya Mane, Shilpa Navalkar, Suchitra Bandekar, and Deepa Parab. The film is a family drama that is packed with entertainment while teaching important life lessons in a light and engaging way.
Tendulkar, who is also the film's presenter, shared his excitement about the project, saying, "Baipan Bhari Deva is a celebration of all the different facets of women. It honors women who are constantly winning by celebrating femininity as a mother, sister, wife, and daughter. I have experienced their wonder in my life, and now you can experience it too by watching the movie on June 30th."
The film's story revolves around six sisters and their unique aspirations as they navigate their complex relationships, addressing various aspects of womanhood, including traditional notions and breaking stereotypes.
The film's producers, Jyoti Deshpande and Madhuri Bhosle, along with co-producers Bela Shinde and Ajit Bhure, are thrilled about the release of the movie and the chance to showcase women's strengths and abilities.
Past News on the Film
The film began production before 2021 but had to be paused. When production resumed in March 2021, Shinde said, “We had completed almost 80 percent of the film's shoot before the Coronavirus lockdown. So, we have resumed our shooting today to complete the final part in two days. We are following the govt guidelines and keeping a tab on the safety, and things are regularly sanitized".
On International Women’s Day in 2022, Kedar Shinde released a special poster from his upcoming film, Baipan Bhari Deva.
Shinde, known for his films celebrating women, said, “I became wise by his rites… He tried to listen to the minds of women while making the movie Aga Bai Arrecha. In the movie “Baipan Bhari Deva", we have tried to peek inside.”
In a past interview, the director revealed that the film was a unique story with six characters and would be different from films that typically explore women’s stories. The filmmaker expressed his hope that the audience would appreciate the film.

As a legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar has made his mark in the world of sports. However, he has also dabbled in the film industry. In the past, Tendulkar has made cameo appearances in a few films, including the Bollywood movie "Stumped."
Aside from a cameo, Sachin Tendulkar portrayed himself in the documentary biopic 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' directed by James Erskine. The movie grossed over Rs. 76 crore at the box office. While Tendulkar's film career may not have been extensive, his fans have always enjoyed seeing him on the big screen.
