Rishabh Pant Shares Photo with U-16 Squad in NCA

Indian cricket fans have been eagerly waiting for the return of Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper-batter who has been out of action since a horrific car accident in December 2022. While Pant's recovery has been slow, there are signs that he is on the mend and looking forward to resuming his cricketing career.
Recently, Pant visited the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru(NCA), where he interacted with the under-16 players who were present for a high-performance camp. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared images of Pant's interaction with the young players, who were eager to learn from one of the most talented cricketers in the country.
During the interaction, Pant spoke to the young players about cricket, life, and the importance of hard work. The BCCI praised Pant's generosity in sparing time for the young cricketers, who were undoubtedly thrilled to meet one of their heroes in person.
Pant's rehabilitation has been ongoing since April, and he has been making steady progress in his recovery. He recently posted a video on Instagram showing him throwing away his crutches, indicating that he is now able to walk without assistance.
Pant as a Player
Pant's absence has been keenly felt by the Delhi Capitals, the team he captains in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Capitals have struggled in his absence, and their hopes of making it to the playoffs have taken a hit. Pant's absence is also likely to be felt by the Indian team, who will be without their star wicketkeeper-batter in a series of big matches later this year.
Despite his injury woes, Pant remains one of the brightest talents in international cricket, particularly in the Test format. He has scored five centuries and 11 half-centuries in just 33 Test matches, with an average of 43.67. In ODIs, he has one century and an average of 34.60 in 30 matches. While he has struggled in T20Is so far, his IPL record is impressive, with 2838 runs at a strike rate of 147.97 and an average of 34.61.
Delhi Capitals Status
As the league stage of the IPL 2023 reaches its climax, all eyes are on the crucial match between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings on May 10. While Chennai are already sitting pretty in the third position, Delhi are struggling to stay afloat at the bottom of the table. With only four wins in ten matches, the Capitals are in desperate need of a victory to keep their qualification hopes alive.
Their run rate of -0.529 is the worst among all the teams, making it even more imperative for them to get a win against the formidable CSK. However, Chennai will be no pushovers, with their solid batting and bowling line-up led by the legendary MS Dhoni. It promises to be a thrilling encounter between two teams with vastly different fortunes in this season of the IPL.
With the upcoming matchesk, Indian cricket fans will be hoping to see Pant back in action soon, as his aggressive batting style and lightning-fast reflexes behind the stumps make him one of the most exciting cricketers to watch.
