Rajasthan Royals Share Yuzvendra Chahal Dance Lesson
Joe Root, the former England captain, is making the most of his time at Rajasthan Royals, even though he has not played a game yet. The team bought him for his base price of Rs 1 crore in the IPL 2023 mini-auction, and Root has been bonding with the RR players, especially Yuzvendra Chahal and his England teammate Jos Buttler.
In a video shared by RR, the two cricketers can be seen grooving to a popular Punjabi song called 'Biba.' The Rajasthan Royals' social media account described it as a "Yuzi style welcome to the IPL."
The video featured Chahal teaching Root some new dance moves, as the song continues to play in the background. In a recent interview, Root revealed that Chahal had been "looking after him" and that he was "great fun" to be around
Fans on Twitter were impressed with Root's dancing skills and commented on the video.
Chahal has gained notoriety for his dance moves with his teammates, which often go viral on social media. The veteran cricketer has a special bond with his teammates, particularly the overseas players, such as the explosive opener Jos Buttler.
Chahal's Latest IPL Achievement
Aside from showing off dance moves, Chahal has shown some impressive moves on the field lately. During Rajasthan Royals' opening match of the 2023 Indian Premier League against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, the player made history.
He became the first Indian to take 300 wickets in T20s. Chahal dismissed SRH batter Harry Brook to reach the feat; of his 300 wickets, 91 had come in international cricket.
Earlier, last year’s runners-up Rajasthan Royals made a rollicking start to the IPL, amassing 203 for five against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Jos Buttler (54), Yashasvi Jaiswal (54), and Sanju Samson (55) slammed aggressive half-centuries as Rajasthan Royals ripped apart the Bhuvneshwar Kumar-led SRH in their backyard to pile up the season's highest total yet.
In the process, they also became the first team to breach the 200-run mark this season.
Other News on Root
On Root's end and before his dance lesson with Chahal, he sat for a candid chat with teammate Jos Buttler. When asked to choose a player he would want to hang out with and avoid at Rajasthan Royals, Root quickly picked Yuzvendra Chahal.
However, Buttler cheekily suggested that he would want Chahal to look after him when he's in India and for Root to be his best mate when he's outside India. Buttler also disclosed that Root used to work in Sheffield Circus when he was a child.
The IPL shared the video of their entertaining conversation on their official Twitter handle, and fans couldn't stop gushing about the camaraderie between the two teammates.
So far, RR has had a mixed start to IPL 2023, winning one game and losing the other. The team finished as runners-up last season and will look to improve their performance in their next match against Delhi Capitals on Saturday. Fans are excited to see Root make his IPL debut and hope that he will bring more success to the team.
