Rahul Dravid's Maldives Scuba Dive Goes Viral

Team India head coach Rahul Dravid is taking a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of the action-packed IPL 2023 in Maldives. While all the elite team India cricketers are busy with their respective franchises in the IPL 2023, Dravid is enjoying his time off in the serene blue waters of Maldives. In viral pictures and videos shared on social media, the former India captain can even be seen indulging in scuba diving.
Dravid, who is also the former coach and player of the Rajasthan Royals(RR), cannot be associated with the cash-rich league in any capacity due to the Conflict of Interest clause. However, he is making the best use of his free time and exploring his adventurous side. In pictures and videos shared by Nikhil Chinapa - VJ and music entrepreneur - Dravid can be seen wearing scuba diving gear and chilling near the blue ocean of Maldives.
"THE WALL gets submerged! Was fun diving with Rahul Dravid and his family. His attention to detail, keenness to understand the 'why' and 'how' of things being done will one day make him as good a diver as a cricketer which he [undoubtedly] is," read the caption of the post showing Dravid's scuba diving adventure.
Chinapa, who shared the pictures and videos on his social media handle, was thrilled to dive with Dravid and his family. He even praised Dravid for his attention to detail, keenness to understand the 'why' and 'how' of things being done, which, according to him, will one day make him as good a diver as a cricketer which he undoubtedly is. Chinapa also revealed in his post that Rahul, his wife, and kids - all got certified as PADI Open Water divers.
After The Adventure
After enjoying his break, Rahul Dravid will be traveling to England towards the end of May for the World Test Championship (WTC) final, scheduled to be held at The Oval in London from June 7-11. Despite the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament, the coach and his team will assemble at the National Cricket Academy on Tuesday to start their preparations for the big event.
India is set to make their second consecutive appearance in a World Test Championship final, having faced off against New Zealand in the previous edition in 2021. However, the team is faced with some challenges ahead of the big final, including injuries to key first-team players.
The absence of pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer, and the main overseas match-winner Rishabh Pant is sure to pose a significant challenge for the Indian team, and the coaching staff will need to carefully evaluate their options to find the best replacements.
In addition to addressing injury concerns, the Indian team must also focus on workload management, especially with the ODI World Cup just around the corner. The coaching staff will need to carefully balance the workload of their players, ensuring that they are not overburdened and can perform at their best during both events.
Dravid's break is an excellent reminder that it is essential to take time off and recharge one's batteries. Amidst the chaos and commotion, it is essential to slow down and take a breath.
Rahul Dravid's scuba diving adventure in Maldives sets a perfect example of how one can rejuvenate and come back stronger.
