Rahul Dravid Caught in Animated Chat with Mushfiqur Rahim

During the practice session in Mirpur on Tuesday, Mushfiqur Rahim was seen having a lengthy chat with former India captain and current head coach Rahul Dravid. With how much Bangladesh has been struggling against India in the 1st Test match, it is not surprising that Mushfiqur was willing to get any help.

A video of the moment showed Dravid dominating the conversation with multiple hand gestures and explaining to Mushfiqur how to tackle the spinners. At the end of their lengthy chat, the Bangladesh right-hander was seen hugging Dravid to express his gratitude.

So far, the Bangladeshi player has managed scores of only 18, 12, 7, 28, and 23 in the three ODIs and one Test against India so far. Mushfiqur will have one final opportunity to make amends in the second Test against India starting Thursday in Mirpur.

Mushfiqur was most likely talking to Dravid due to the fact that the head coach earned several achievements in Test series, one being that he scored 13288 Test runs. He also scored 36 centuries and 63 fifties in his Test career. In addition to all this, he is the 2nd highest run-getter for India in Tests.

Before he became the head coach of the senior men's national team, Dravid was the Head of Cricket at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), and the head coach of the India Under-19 and India A teams.

While Bangladesh has not been successful in the Test match against India, they have done well in the second ODI against India with Mehidy Hasan Miraz scoring an epic 148-run partnership off 165 balls with Mahmudullah.

It was the highest-ever seventh-wicket stand against India and the match ended with a narrow five-run difference.

Bangladesh has also showed an impressive performance in their Test match against Sri Lanka back in May. During that time, Mushfiqur was the first Bangladeshi to complete five thousand Test runs. Unfortunately, even with strong players, the team has had less than stellar luck in the Test series.

The 1st Test has ended with India leading the two-match series 1-0. Despite Bangladesh’s best efforts, India won the first test by a 188-run difference.
