Prithvi Shaw Responds To Fake Viral Post

Indian opening batter Prithvi Shaw has become a viral topic on and after Valentine's Day. An Instagram story featuring him and model-actress Ravi Tapadia went viral, but another post by Shaw revealed that the viral post was 'edited.'

The Viral Story

The story showed a photo of Shaw and his rumored girlfriend, Nidhi Ravi Tapadia, with the caption, “Happy valentine’s my wifey,” and tagged Nidhi. The story quickly disappeared, but several fans took a screenshot of the post, and photos of it are still circulating on social media.

After the post got deleted, Shaw posted another story on his Instagram page, and it read, "Someone editing my pics and showing stuff that I haven't put on my story or on my page. So ignore all the tags and msges thx."

The story quickly went viral because Shaw has remained tight-lipped about his love life and has built a mystery around it.

Who is Nidhi Ravi Tapadia?

Nidhi Ravi Tapadia is an Indian model and actress that became an internet and Instagram sensation, with over 103k followers on the social media app. Rumors of her dating Shaw started when the Delhi Capitals opener shared multiple pictures of himself partying with Tapadia during the New Year. Some photos showed them cozying up together.

The actress received her first significant break when Kulwinder Billa, a well-known Punjabi singer, sang “Jatta Koka.” Recently, she made a cameo in the “Kiss You” music video by Tony Kakkar.

When the viral post got deleted, Nidhi posted a photo of her in Gulmarg, Kashmir, on Instagram with the caption, "Currently living in heaven," and tagged Prithvi Shaw.

It is not the first time that rumors sparked about Shaw having a relationship. Before Nidhi Ravi Tapadia, the cricket allegedly dated actress Prachi Singh. Since the supposed romance dominated news stories in 2020, the two stopped following one another on Instagram.

What's Going on with Prithvi Shaw?

Before Valentine's Day went viral, Shaw made headlines for being snubbed by the BCCI selectors for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. However, the player said he didn't expect a call back into the Indian team before the New Zealand series.

In one interview, he said, "It has been a tough journey in these 18 months. There were people who supported me throughout my career, who stood beside me in this phase and kept supporting me even when I was not playing for India. Rahul sir (Dravid) and Paras sir (bowling coach CHECK Paras Mhambrey) have been there for me since I was 16. It feels nice to know that they are doing pretty well now."

Shaw's Record So Far

Last year, the player scored 332 runs at a strike rate of 181.42 with a highest score of 134 against Assam in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, finishing second in the list of top run-getters in the tournament. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he scored 217 runs in seven innings, while in the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy campaign, the opener aggregated 355 runs in six matches.
