Pori Moni to Star in Upcoming Film “Dodor Golpo”
Actress Pori Moni, celebrated for her memorable performances on the silver screen, is set to make a comeback to cinema after a two-year hiatus, which was primarily attributed to her pregnancy. Her highly anticipated comeback will take place in the government-funded cinematic project titled "Dodor Golpo," an eagerly awaited production that has generated considerable buzz among film enthusiasts. This upcoming motion picture is poised to be a collaboration of notable talents, with G-Series, a prominent production company, taking the reins as the film's producer.
What adds an extra layer of excitement to this project is the creative vision of Reza Ghatok, a renowned fiction writer and director, who has meticulously crafted the film's intricate plot, immersive narrative, and engaging screenplay. Ghatok's involvement is expected to infuse “Dodor Golpo” with a unique artistic touch that will captivate audiences and leave a lasting impact.
Pori Moni is set to portray Kajol Chowdhury in the film "Dodor Golpo," and the names of her fellow actors will be revealed shortly. The movie "Dodor Golpo" secured government funding of Tk 60 lakh for the 2021-22 fiscal year, and Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan (Khaled) will serve as the film's producer.
Expressing her excitement about the project, Pori Moni said, “I am thrilled to be a part of this beautiful story. This day holds immense significance for me. Acting is ingrained in my very being. The movie industry is like my extended family, and I have really missed being a part of it for the past two years.”
“The wait is finally over. I have spent four months eagerly anticipating this story and immersing myself in my character. Every day, I have contemplated the role and the script. That’s why ‘Dodor Golpo’ holds a special place in my heart. Among many scripts, I chose this one after careful consideration. I hope my audience can look forward to something truly exceptional,” she continued.
Director Reza Ghatok said, “Through the journey of a mother, we aim to spotlight the agriculture sector of Bangladesh. ‘Dodor Golpo’ will follow the 20-year odyssey of our protagonist, Kajol Chowdhury. The movie boasts a stellar cast of 87 talented actors and will be filmed in over 25 unique locations. Shooting for the movie is set to commence on October 5.”
The film's producer, Nazmul, described the plot, stating, “The movie portrays the relentless struggle of a self-reliant mother. Kajol Chowdhury’s unwavering determination will lead her to reunite with her long-lost son after nearly two decades.”
The film's executive producer, Khademul Jahan, has officially confirmed the release schedule, assuring that the movie is on track to hit the big screen by the end of this year.
Recently, a momentous signing event for the movie took place, graced by the presence of several esteemed individuals from the entertainment industry. Notable actors such as Amirul Haque Chowdhury, Khairul Alam Sabuj, Shankar Shawjal, Ahsan Habib Nasim, Newaz, Monira Mithu, and the talented director Chayanika Chowdhury all lent their presence to the occasion. This gathering not only symbolized the union of exceptional talents but also marked a significant milestone in the film's journey towards completion.
