Nuhash Humayun's 'Premer Natok' Premiering Today

Talented Bangladeshi director Nuhash Humayun, known for his distinctive storytelling and unique approach to cinema, has once again delved into the realm of romantic comedy with his latest project, "Premer Natok." Produced in collaboration with Airtel, the film showcases Nuhash's prowess in capturing the essence of youthful romance and comedy, a genre that holds a special place in his heart.
Nuhash's journey in the world of filmmaking has been marked by notable works such as "Moshari," "Pett Kata Shaw," and "Sincerely Yours, Dhaka." The latter, a collection of short films, garnered international acclaim and even earned the honor of representing Bangladesh at the 93rd Academy Awards. It's worth mentioning that his debut, "Sincerely Yours, Dhaka," had its world premiere at the esteemed Busan International Film Festival and is currently available on Netflix, reaching audiences worldwide.
Born on January 1, 1992, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Nuhash Humayun hails from a distinguished artistic lineage. His father, the late Humayun Ahmed, was a multi-talented luminary known for his contributions as a novelist, dramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, songwriter, scholar, and professor. Despite his parents' separation when he was just 11 years old, Nuhash found solace with his mother, and their bond remained a pillar of strength throughout his life.
Tragically, Nuhash's father passed away on July 19, 2012, after battling cancer. At the tender age of 20, Nuhash bid a final farewell to his father during the emotional return of his father's remains from New York to Bangladesh.
Nuhash's artistic inclination was nurtured by his family's rich creative legacy, with luminaries like Zafar Iqbal and Ahsan Habib as his paternal uncles. His early forays into filmmaking included captivating short films like "Paperfrogs," "700 Taka," and "Pizza Bhai," which hinted at the promise of a budding cinematic talent.
However, it was the web series "Pett Kata Shaw" that catapulted Nuhash to widespread recognition. The series garnered praise for its direction and metaphoric depth, earning a spot in the Harbor section of the 52nd International Film Festival Rotterdam.
One of Nuhash's most celebrated achievements is the short film "Moshari," which received accolades at various international festivals. This milestone led to a significant milestone in his career, as he was signed by the prestigious Anonymous Content and Creative Artists Agency in 2022. Collaborating with luminaries like Jordan Peele and Riz Ahmed, "Moshari" became the first-ever Oscar qualifying film from Bangladesh.
Following this success, Nuhash was offered the opportunity to direct an episode of Hulu's "Bite-Size Halloween" series, titled "Foreigners Only," showcasing his growing influence on the global stage.
Nuhash's latest venture, "Premer Natok," promises to bring a burst of energy and youthful vibrance to audiences. With a cast featuring Yash Rohan, Morshed Mishu, Mumtahina Mehzabin, Saba Chowdhury, and Ragheeb Moazzem, the film is poised to leave a mark in the world of Bangladeshi cinema.
As Nuhash puts it, "I love exploring the romantic comedy genre, and since I consider it as somewhat my roots, I have ventured into this particular genre once again." With a keen eye for discovering new talent and a unique storytelling style, Nuhash Humayun continues to captivate audiences with his cinematic brilliance.
"Premer Natok" is now available for viewing on Airtel's YouTube channel, inviting audiences to embark on a delightful journey of love and laughter crafted by a visionary director.
