Chennai Super Kings captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has been spotted getting his hands dirty ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) opener. The veteran cricketer was seen painting the chairs of the MA Chidambaram stadium in vibrant yellow, the team's signature color.

The CSK franchise shared a video on social media, showing the former Indian captain with a can of spray paint, meticulously coloring the seats of the stadium.

In the video, the CSK captain can be seen meticulously coloring the seats, occasionally taking a break to admire his work. Dhoni seems pleased with the result, as he says, "It works. It's definitely looking Yellove" after painting a yellow seat. He even suggests that painting darker colors is easier while painting a blue seat.

The iconic stadium has undergone renovation with new stands and better spectator facilities ahead of the 3rd ODI in the recently concluded India vs. Australia series.

Response to the Post

In the video's caption, CSK wrote, "'Definitely looking Yellove' Anbuden Awaiting for April 3". The clip has since gone viral, with over 200,000 views and more than 15,000 likes, along with several comments from fans praising the cricketer's down-to-earth nature.

One user wrote, "Lucky are those who will sit on those seats," while another joked about the high seat rates at the stadium. A third user commented on Dhoni's simplicity, and a fourth user simply couldn't contain their excitement for the upcoming IPL season.

CSK and the IPL

Dhoni's dedication to the CSK franchise is undeniable. He has been leading the team since its inception in the inaugural IPL edition in 2008 and has remained the skipper ever since.

This year's tournament will hold special significance for Dhoni, who announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket back in August 2020. Rumors have been swirling that this could be his last IPL tournament, making it an emotional moment for both the player and his legion of fans.

CSK had a forgettable season in IPL 2022, finishing in 9th place. But the team made some serious reinforcements in the IPL 2023 mini-auction, with the biggest purchase being star England all-rounder Ben Stokes, who they bought for a whopping Rs 16.25 crore.

Chennai Super Kings IPL Schedule

As one of the most successful teams in the IPL, with four titles to their name, the Chennai Super Kings will be hoping to make a strong start to their campaign. Their first match will be against defending champions Gujarat Titans on March 31st, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

However, it's their second match at the MA Chidambaram stadium against the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants that has fans on the edge of their seats.

With Dhoni at the helm, the Chennai Super Kings will be looking to once again claim their spot at the top of the IPL leaderboard. And who knows, with the captain's hands-on approach to preparing the stadium, perhaps the team's luck will be shining even brighter this year.

As the start of IPL 2023 approaches, cricket fans are waiting to see if Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni can add another trophy to their collection.
