MS Dhoni Meets Gowtham's Family After IPL Match

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had a grand homecoming on Monday at the M.A. Chidambaram stadium in Chennai after a four-year hiatus. After losing their first match, they bounced back to defeat Lucknow Super Giants by 12 runs, thanks to an impressive performance from Ruturaj Gaikwad, who smashed 57 off 31 balls.
However, what made the victory even sweeter was MS Dhoni's heartwarming gesture after the match. The CSK captain was seen meeting the family of Lucknow all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham, including his wife and daughter, and posing for photos with them.
The little girl also got a high-five from the World Cup-winning captain, and pictures of the heartwarming moment were shared by the team's official social media handle.
Krishnappa Gowtham played for Chennai Super Kings in the 2021 IPL season, and fans took to social media to reminisce about his association with the team. They praised Dhoni's gesture, calling him a man with a golden heart.
Dhoni's Other Social Media Moments
In addition to the meeting, Suresh Raina and Robin Uthappa, who used to play for Chennai, were at the stadium and had a great reunion after the game.
CSK franchise shared a picture where five legendary players of the team were seen embracing each other. Ambati Rayudu and Ravindra Jadeja were also part of the picture along with Dhoni, Raina, and Uthappa.
The meetings were just some of the heartwarming moments shared on social media after the match. Over the past weeks, Dhoni has been making several headlines for different social media posts that have gone viral.
Recently, it was reported that MS Dhoni took time to send a special message to his teammate's mother, as Dwayne Bravo's mother turned 65 on Monday. Along with other CSK players, Dhoni sent her warm birthday wishes.
Before that, he captured fan's hearts during a practice session when he showed his gratitude to the supporters with a humble folding hand gesture.
Match Highlights
On the field, Gaikwad, Devon Conway, and Moeen Ali helped CSK post a commanding total of 217/7, with Gaikwad scoring his second successive fifty and sharing 110 runs for the opening wicket with Conway. Ali then returned with impressive figures of 4 for 26 to restrict LSG to 205/7, despite a late charge by Nicholas Pooran and a fiery opening assault by Kyle Mayers.
Dhoni was taken aback by how well the Chepauk wicket performed in the game against Lucknow. Chennai bowled as many as 13 wides and three no-balls.
The CSK captain acknowledged that it was a fantastic high-scoring game and expressed his surprise at the wicket’s design. Dhoni anticipates seeing if they can consistently produce a wicket like this.
In conclusion, the sweet moment between Dhoni and Gowtham’s family added a touching note to the game. Despite being on opposite sides, the players showed respect and kindness, reflecting the spirit of cricket.
The next match for the LSG is against SRH at Lucknow on April 7, while the CSK has a blockbuster clash with MI to look forward to at the Wankhede on April 8.
