MS Dhoni Fans Show Love Before IPL Final

The excitement and anticipation for the IPL 2023 final reached a fever pitch in Ahmedabad, but unfortunately, rain played spoilsport on Sunday, forcing the match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Gujarat Titans to be postponed until Monday. Despite the delay, the enthusiasm of the fans remained unwavering, particularly when it came to their support for the legendary MS Dhoni.

Videos circulating on social media showcased the immense sea of yellow outside the Narendra Modi Stadium, with fans eagerly waiting in line to catch a glimpse of the veteran cricketer. Dhoni's popularity knows no bounds, and the chants of "Dhoni, Dhoni" echoed through the streets of Ahmedabad, further exemplifying the adoration he commands.

Following the delay due to the rain, fans who had gathered at the Narendra Modi Stadium had to return home without witnessing any action. Videos and pictures surfaced on social media, revealing some CSK fans sleeping on the floor at a nearby railway station.

Despite the option to use the same tickets for the Reserve Day, many fans chose to stay in Motera, eagerly awaiting a glimpse of their beloved captain, MS Dhoni. This marks the first time in IPL history that a final had to be moved to a reserve day, leaving fans shocked and eager for the rescheduled match.

The final match holds special significance for Dhoni, as it marks his 250th appearance in the IPL, an extraordinary milestone that no other player has achieved. Furthermore, this is his 11th final as a player and his 10th as a captain, highlighting his exceptional leadership qualities and his ability to guide his team to the summit clash.

Dhoni's IPL journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Throughout his 249 IPL matches, he has amassed an impressive total of 5,082 runs at an average of 39.09 and a strike rate of 135.96 in 217 innings. With 24 half-centuries to his name and a highest score of 84*, he is currently the seventh-highest run-scorer in the history of the league.

His contributions to the Chennai Super Kings have been particularly noteworthy. In 219 matches for the franchise, Dhoni has scored 4,508 runs in 190 innings, including 22 half-centuries. His highest score stands at 84, and his strike rate is an impressive 137.52, with a batting average of 40.25. During his stint with the Rising Pune Supergiant from 2016 to 2017, he played 30 matches, scoring 574 runs with two half-centuries, a highest score of 64, and a strike rate of 124.78.

Dhoni's leadership skills have also shone brightly in the IPL. As a captain for both the Chennai Super Kings and the Rising Pune Supergiant, he has led his team in 225 matches, the most by any player in the history of the IPL. Out of these matches, he has emerged victorious in 132, showcasing his ability to inspire and guide his team to success.
