Kohli Praises CSK's Win with Heartfelt Post

In a thrilling encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Monday, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) emerged victorious over the Gujarat Titans (GT) to claim their fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy. The match went down to the wire, with CSK needing 10 runs off the last two balls to secure the title.

It was the all-around heroics of Ravindra Jadeja that sealed the deal for CSK and earned him high praise from Virat Kohli, the former India captain.

Despite being in England for the World Test Championship (WTC) final, Kohli took to his Instagram story to laud Jadeja's exceptional performance. He referred to Jadeja as a "champion" and expressed his admiration for CSK captain MS Dhoni with a heart emoji.

Kohli's Support

Kohli has always held Dhoni in high regard, having experienced success under his leadership during the 2011 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy.

Even though he's far away in London preparing for the World Test Championship final, Kohli couldn't take his eyes off the action at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a photo of Kohli's teammates, including Mohammed Siraj, R Ashwin, Axar Patel, and head coach Rahul Dravid, eagerly following the IPL match on their way back to the hotel after a day of practice in London. It seems like the excitement of the IPL is contagious, even for the Indian team gearing up for a crucial Test match against Australia at The Oval on June 7.

Highlights of the Final

The final itself was a spectacle of skill and determination from both teams. CSK's batting lineup demonstrated their class with a clinical display. Opener Devon Conway stole the show, scoring a blazing 47 off just 25 balls. Shivam Dube played a crucial role, remaining unbeaten on 32 off 21 deliveries.

Contributions from Ajinkya Rahane (27 off 13 balls), Ruturaj Gaikwad (26 off 16 balls), and Ambati Rayudu (19 off 8 balls) also bolstered CSK's chase. However, it was Jadeja who provided the final flourish, smashing an unbeaten 15 off six balls, including a crucial six and four in the last two deliveries.

Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya played their part with scores of 39 (off 20 balls) and 21 not out (off 12 balls), respectively.

CSK's bowlers put up a commendable effort, with Matheesha Pathirana claiming two wickets and Jadeja and Deepak Chahar taking one each. GT's Mohit Sharma stood out with three wickets, while Noor Ahmed scalped two at an impressive economy rate of 5.67.

Conclusion

The IPL 2023 final was a fitting end to an exciting season. CSK's victory not only highlighted their dominance in the tournament but also showcased their ability to perform under pressure. Ravindra Jadeja's all-around brilliance earned him well-deserved accolades, not only from his teammates and fans but also from the likes of Virat Kohli.

As the celebrations continue for the CSK franchise and their passionate supporters, the IPL 2023 final will be remembered as a pulsating contest that captivated cricket enthusiasts worldwide.
