Gujarat Titans Share Video Describing Mohammed Shami
Gujarat Titans' Mohammed Shami is not only impressing cricket fans with his outstanding performances, but he has also won the hearts of his teammates. In a recent video posted by the Gujarat Titans’ Twitter handle, Rashid Khan and other players from the team took turns describing the pacer using one word.
Rashid Khan, also known as the ‘King of Spin’, described Shami as having the ability to "swing" the ball, which is a highly regarded skill in cricket. Other teammates described Shami as "skillful", "super chill", and "funny", showing his versatility on and off the field.
Young batter Sai Sudharshan went on to describe Shami as a "Dada" or big brother figure, demonstrating his leadership qualities in the team.
Shami's performance in the Indian Premier League has been outstanding this season, and he is currently holding the "Purple Cap" with 17 wickets in nine matches. He delivered his best performance in IPL history against DC with figures of 4-0-11-4.
Other Statements on the Team and Shami
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has weighed in on the upcoming IPL 2023 clash between the Gujarat Titans and the Rajasthan Royals, highlighting Gujarat's strength in bowling as a key factor in their success.
In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Chopra expressed his admiration for the Titans' potent bowling lineup, including Mohammad Shami, who is currently the holder of the Purple Cap with 17 wickets. He also praised the team's depth in batting and believes their recent batting issues against the Delhi Capitals were just a blip.
Chopra predicted that the team winning the toss might opt to bat first, given the recent trend of away teams winning matches and defending a target. With both teams hungry for a win, the upcoming clash promises to be an exciting one, with all eyes on the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 5.
Last Match Results
Recently, Gujarat lost the cricket match to Delhi, despite Hardik Pandya's and Rahul Tewatia's good performances, because Delhi's bowlers restricted them to 125 for 6. Delhi won the match, but remained at the bottom of the table, while Gujarat continued to stay in the top spot. Delhi's quicks took early wickets, and slow bowlers took more wickets. Pandya and Manohar steadied the ship for Gujarat, but Tewatia's back-to-back sixes were not enough to win the match.
In the same match, Delhi lost five wickets for 23 runs inside five overs. Shami took a wicket off the first ball, and Delhi was tottering at 28 for five at the end of the Powerplay. Axar Patel and Aman stopped the collapse with some much-needed runs, but Mohit Sharma broke the partnership by taking the wicket of the Delhi vice-captain. Aman hit a boundary and a six and brought up a much-needed half-century in 41 balls.
Following this match, Gujarat Titans prepare to face Rajasthan Royals in their next game at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Friday. All eyes will be on Shami to see if he can maintain his impressive form and continue to be the backbone of his team's success.
