Gadar 2 Box Office Continues to Soar, Mints ₹17 Crore

"Gadar 2," a sequel to the popular film "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" (2001), is creating waves in the entertainment world. In this film, Sunny Deol portrayed the character Tara Singh, while Ameesha Patel took on the role of Sakeena. Directed by Anil Sharma, "Gadar 2" has been achieving remarkable feats since its release, with its earnings now reaching ₹17 crore on its 17th day in theaters, inching closer to the coveted ₹500 crore mark.

The box office numbers for "Gadar 2" are indeed impressive. In the first week, the film collected ₹284.63 crore, and the second week brought in ₹134.47 crore. On the third Sunday, it is estimated to have earned ₹17 crore nett in India, making its total earnings stand at approximately ₹456.95 crore. Notably, "Gadar 2" secured the position of the third highest-grossing Hindi film recently, surpassing "KGF 2." Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared this achievement on social media, highlighting its record-breaking success in mass sectors.

Sunny Deol, the star of the film, expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming response. In a video shared on his Instagram, he conveyed his surprise and thankfulness for the film's popularity. Sunny thanked the audience for their support and noted that "Gadar 2" crossed the 400 crore mark due to their love.

The story of "Gadar 2" continues from its predecessor, "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha," which hit theaters in 2001. Set during the 1947 partition of India, the original film featured Sunny Deol as Tara Singh, a truck driver, and Ameesha Patel as Sakeena. "Gadar 2" follows Tara Singh's daring journey across the border into Pakistan to rescue his son, portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma, who has been captured there.

The film's impact has extended beyond the silver screen. The team organized a special screening for Lok Sabha members at the New Parliament House, demonstrating its cultural significance. The film has been screened daily since August 25, with five shows each day, making it an exceptional cinematic event.
