When Virat Kohli scored his 74th international century, and India made their 317-run victory, fans went wild. One ardent fan of Kohli’s took to Twitter to share that he was getting married the same day the Indian scored his 74th century.

In the post, the fan wrote, “I asked for the 71st century but he scored 74th on my special day", with a picture of him dressed in a sherwani. The post has since gone viral, garnering 1 million views.

There were also plenty of positive responses to the post. One person said, "Hearty congratulations @Aman2010Aman. I remember seeing this pic and am glad for you. Wishing you a couple of loads of happiness." Another person commented, "The belief you showed in him is beyond everything. Many, many congratulations and best wishes for your future life."

The fan, Aman Agarwal, previously went viral in April 2022. While attending one of India's matches in the stadium, he was spotted with a banner saying he won't get married until Virat scores his 71st international ton. Reportedly, Agarwal began preparations to tie the knot after Kohli scored a century in September last year and got married on January 15.

Agarwal was not the only one to make a vow to not marry until the player’s 71st ton. In Kohli’s 100th Test match for the Indian side against Sri Lanka, a fan caught plenty of attention. The fan was holding a placard that stated he will not get married until Kohli scores his 71st international century.

Another fan took a photo of them and shared it with the caption, “See the promise of Virat Kohli's Fans from himself. They want Virat Kohli to score his 71st Century very soon. This is Today's pic from Mohali Stadium.”

So far, there was no official update on the fan and whether he went through with the fan.

This vow was because Kohli had famously gone without reaching a triple-digit score for nearly 3 years. It was in the Asian Cup T20 match against Afghanistan in September 2022 that Kohli ended his drought. Following this match, the player has shown a superb performance in several matches.

Now, Virat Kohli is only four centuries away from breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record for most ODI hundreds.

For his accomplishments in the 3rd ODI and his match-winning ton, Kohli won the 'Man of the Match' award. Having scored 283 runs in the series, he was also given the 'Man of the Series' honor.

After the ODI Sri Lanka, Kohli will be taking a break and not participating in the T20I series against New Zealand. The two teams just finished their first ODI and India won by 12 runs. The next match will be on January 21, Saturday.

Kohli is said to return for the four-match Test series against Australia. The last time that India went against Australia in a Test series was in September 2022. Australia had won the Test series by 419 runs. This year, the Test series against Australia will start on February 9. The 1st test will be running until February 13.
