Gregg Berhalter Reveals a USA Player was Almost Sent Home During World Cup

USMNT manager, Gregg Berhalter, revealed that he nearly sent a squad member home from Qatar due to his 'extreme' poor behavior. It was reported that the unnamed player was Borussia Dortmund starlet, Gio Reyna.
Apparently, the player’s behaviour was bad enough that the manager was ready to book a plane ticket home for him. Instead, the manager decided to have one last conversation with the player regarding his future behaviour and how he would apologize to the team.
The manager stated, 'I said, "Okay, this guy's going to apologize to you as a group, to the whole team." When the player did apologize, the team said how he hasn’t been doing enough nor meeting expectations and wanted to see change.

There were reports that said Reyna showed very little effort in both training and games. ESPN even claimed that at the time of Reyna’s apology, the team was asked to vote on whether the player would remain. It was said that there were 13 in favour and 12 against.
It has since been reported that Reyna had changed and ‘understood he was part of a collective group'.
