England Smash India to make Finals
In a packed Adelaide Oval, England produced arguably their best performance of the year and defeated India by 10 wickets. England won the toss and chose to bowl and quickly dismissed India’s opening duo of KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma.
Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya scored half centuries each as India tried to rack up the score in the final overs. At the end of the innings, India put up a score of 168/6 which seemed like a score they could defend.
However, England’s Alex Hales and Jos Buttler were in outstanding form. India’s bowlers could not get going. Hales 86-runs from 47 balls and Buttler’s 80-runs from 49 balls was enough for England to chase down India’s score. The duo also set a new record for the highest partnership score across all T20 World Cups.
After this impressive win, England are now favourites to win the World Cup but if Pakistani bowlers can keep Hales and Buttler in check it might be Pakistan lifting the World Cup. All eyes will be on the finals on November 13th.
