England Players Enjoy a Secret Concert ahead of France game

On Wednesday night at England’s hotel in Al Wakrah, the team received a private concert by former Take That member Robbie Williams.

When talking about the encounter with the pop star, midfielder Kalvin Phillips stated, “Robbie was here with us last night. He was just by the pool and sang us a few songs. It was a really good night. We had the chance to chat to him. He's an unbelievably talented person but also a really nice person. He got along with everyone.”

He also talked about how it was a pleasure to meet the former pop group member and that it was an honour to talk to him. The player even revealed that some players managed to do a duet with the man, though he didn’t give any names.

This is not the first time the team enjoyed a concert before a match. During the European Championship last year, Ed Sheeran performed for the players at St George's Park.

In addition to the players enjoying a concert, it was confirmed that Declan Rice returned to training yesterday after illness and Raheem Sterling is heading back to Qatar.
