Cute Moment Caught Between Rohit and His Wife

The Mumbai Indians finally got off the mark in the Indian Premier League 2023 season by defeating the Delhi Capitals by six wickets. MI skipper Rohit Sharma led from the front and scored an unbeaten 65 from 45 balls to steer his team to victory. The victory was MI's first after suffering two consecutive losses in the tournament.

Rohit's return to form was a major boost for MI, who were chasing a target of 173. The Mumbai captain scored his 41st IPL half-century, making him the second-highest scorer in IPL history. Moreover, this was Rohit’s 26th half-century in a winning cause, outdoing the legendary AB de Villiers.

After the game, Rohit was seen video-calling his wife Ritika Sajdeh to share the momentous occasion with her.

Details on the Call

Ritika congratulated Rohit and mentioned their daughter Sammy would be thrilled to see the Man of the Match trophy he won for his innings. Rohit responded with a smile, promising to bring the trophy home for Sammy.

Ritika was watching the match at home, and she mentioned how crazy the game was and how she had screamed so loudly that she had lost her voice. Rohit revealed that he had not watched the last over as he was too nervous and had lost his nails.

However, he had been part of these nail-biting games in the last 15 years of IPL, so he had seen it all before.

Highlights of the Match

The match was a must-win for both teams, as they were the only two remaining teams yet to win this season. Thanks to Sharma, MI has a glimmer of hope for their next matches.

Rohit Sharma had been going through a lean patch in the IPL, and his form was being questioned more than ever. But he answered his critics in style with his performance in the match.

Earlier in the game, David Warner and Axar Patel had given Delhi Capitals a good start with their half-centuries. However, MI's Piyush Chawla and Jason Behrendorff put the brakes on the Delhi batting order and picked up three wickets each to restrict them to 172 in 19.4 overs.

On the other hand, DC had a batting collapse, but Axar Patel's quickfire 54 off 25 balls helped them reach a respectable total of 172. However, it wasn't enough to stop MI, as in-form Tilak Varma contributed 41 off 29 to the chase.

In the end, Cameron Green and Tim David hit a six each in the 19th over, leaving just 5 runs to chase in the final over. Thanks to a double from David, MI sealed their victory.

MI and DC Status

Before the match against the Capitals, MI had lost their first two matches of the season, and another loss would have put them in a difficult position.

DC, on the other hand, have now lost all four of their opening games and is firmly rooted to the bottom of the table. Their chances of making the playoffs this season are hanging by a thread, and they will need to turn things around quickly if they want to stay in the race.
