Cricket players often make the headlines for different reasons, and one of them is their love lives. Whether it's about relationship speculations or a wedding announcement, there's plenty of news about cricket players and their partners.
Several reports highlight a player's partner because many are famous or have connections to cricket. However, some cricket partners are known for being a fan of the player. There are even some players that married their fans, and these are some of them:
1. Rohit Sharma and Ritika Sajdeh
Rohit Sharma is an Indian international cricketer and is considered one of the best batters of his generation and one of the most incredible opening batters ever. He is married to Ritika Sajdeh.
Not many are aware, but Ritika was the manager of Rohit Sharma before marrying him. Also, she is the Rakhi Sister of Cricketer Yuvraj Singh. Before they dated each other, Ritika was a huge fan of "blue-eyed boy."
The duo began their journey as professionals, where Ritika managed his commercial interests, then as friends before falling in love. Rohit and Ritika dated each other for six years before marrying in December 2015. The two were blessed with a baby girl Samaira Sharma in 2018.
2. MS Dhoni and Sakshi Dhoni
MS Dhoni is one the most successful ODI captain of India, and when his biopic was released in 2016, his love story with Sakshi Dhoni was revealed. MS Dhoni met his wife Sakshi in a Taj Bengal hotel in the year 2007 when he was on Tour with team India.
Their encounter left Sakshi impressed, and she became a fan of the cricketer. The couple eventually tied the knot in Dehradun on July 4, 2010. MS and Sakshi are blessed with a daughter named Ziva Dhoni, who is an internet sensation.
3. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar and Dr. Anjali Tendulkar
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is known as one of the greatest batters in the history of cricket with an impressive record and currently co-owns different franchises. He is married to Dr.Anjali Tendulkar, who is six years older than him.
Sachin and Anjali's love story began with an encounter at Mumbai International Airport in 1990. Anjali was unaware of the cricket world, and meeting Sachin not only turned Anjali into a fan of the iconic player but also of the game itself.
The couple tied the knot in May 1995 and are blessed with a daughter Sara Tendulkar and a son Arjun Tendulkar.
4. Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore
Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was known as one of Team India's youngest captains. Pataudi was appointed India's cricket captain at the age of 21 and described as "one of greatest." Sharmila Tagore, meanwhile, was a well-known actress and at the pinnacle of her Bollywood career.
Sharmila frequently attended Pataudi's matches at the stadium, and after a few encounters, they fell deeply in love. In 1968, the couple tied the knot and went on to have three children: Saif Ali Khan, Soha Ali Khan, and Saba Ali Khan, who is now a celebrated designer.
Sadly, the cricket player passed in Delhi in 2011. Currently, Sharmila is 78 years old.
