Bangladesh Suffers Devastating Loss by 5-Runs
It was an exciting match for India and Bangladesh. After a delay caused by the rain, Bangladesh was reduced to playing 16 overs and needed 150 runs to win. Sadly, too many no-runs and low scores had them end with a total of 145/6.
India struck hard as the first to bat on the field. With KL Rahul and Virat Kohli’s half-centuries, the two earned the team a combined score of 114-runs. India’s bowlers also defended their score by getting important wickets at crucial parts of the game.
Before the rain delayed the game, Bangladesh was going strong with opening batter Litton Das scoring the team a half-century. While the team fought hard with their reduced overs, most of their efforts were cut by amazing catches by India’s fielders.
Due to the delay and reduced runs, the scores were determined by the DSL Method. India now go top of Group 2 while Bangladesh will need to defeat Pakistan for a chance at the semi-finals.
