Babar Azam Causes Laughter at Press Conference

The season has brought several weddings for the Pakistan cricket team. Since Shaheen Afridi, Shan Masood, and Shadab Khan all got married in the past months, questions are popping up about when Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is getting married. In a press conference, Babar Azam's response to the wedding inquiries left reporters laughing.
What did Azam Say?
The press conference was for the PSL (Pakistan Super League), and it happened before the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars.
One of the reporters asked, "Aap kaptaan hai. Aapke saare ladko ki shaadiya ho rahi hai aur aapka baal safed hota jaa raha hai. Toh aapka kab iraada hai shaadi ka? (You are the captain. All of your players are getting married, and your hair is also turning grey. So when are you planning to get married?).”
The question caught the player by surprise, but like in many previous interviews, Azam gave a quick and hilarious response.
"Safed age ki wajah se nahi, shuru se hai safed. Yeh nahi ki shaadi ke liye ho rahi hai. Dekhiye, jab time aayega tab ho jaayega. Time ka wait main bhi kar raha hu, aap bhi karein (My hair was always white, and it is not because I am thinking about marriage. See, when the time is right, marriage will happen. I am waiting for the time to come, and you should wait too.)," he said
After a moment of laughter among those that attended the press conference, Babar moved on to the next question.
Babar Azam's Status
The wedding inquiry is not the first time Azam made reporters laugh in the press conference. Azam also made the reporters laugh when responding to questions about his rivalry with Shaheen Afridi in the PSL.
Speaking of the PSL, Babar is one of the top run-scorers in the league this season, with 171 runs from four innings at an average of 57.00 and a strike rate exceeding 131. He achieved these scores with the help of 18 fours and two sixes.
Despite Babar's remarkable performance, his team Peshawar Zalmi is currently positioned fifth on the points table, having won two matches and lost three out of five matches played.
While Peshawar Zalmi may not be the top team, they, especially Azam, gained plenty of positive attention during the PSL.
Azam's Other Positive Moments
Before the press conference, Azam made headlines for a video released after a PSL match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi.
A video captured by a fan showed the captain cleaning the ground along with other players. The scene quickly went viral when reporter Himanshu Pareek shared the video, and it gained over twenty thousand likes at the time.
What's Next for Azam and His Team?
Azam and his team recently lost their match against the Lahore Qalandars by 40 runs. Their next game in the PSL is against the Karachi Kings on March 1.
The Karachi Kings are fourth in the points table with two wins and four losses out of six matches. The last time the Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings faced each other was in the second match of the PSL and the Peshawar Zalmi won by 2 runs.
