Aamir Khan To Clash with Akshay Kumar in Box Office 2024
Akshay Kumar appears to be encountering a series of box office conflicts. After the recent clash between his movie "OMG 2" and Sunny Deol's "Gadar 2," Akshay is now gearing up for another clash next year. Aamir Khan's upcoming film, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, is slated to be released on the same day as Akshay's "Welcome 3" hits theaters in 2024. Interestingly, both films have chosen the Christmas weekend for their release. Notably, the initial installment of "Welcome" also faced off against Aamir's "Taare Zameen Par" in 2007.
Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi are preparing to join forces once more for a new film, marking their reunion after a span of 30 years since their initial collaboration on the movie "Andaz Apna Apna." Insiders familiar with the project have revealed that the two have been engaged in discussions regarding this project for some time. Aamir Khan has expressed a strong interest in the concept developed by the director. Currently, the film is in the pre-production stage, with filming set to commence in January 2024. The insider also shared that the movie will be a complete entertainer and is scheduled for a release during the Christmas weekend in 2024.
Earlier, it had been revealed that the third movie in the Welcome series, an adventure comedy titled "Welcome To The Jungle," is set to hit theaters on Christmas 2024. Notable additions to the cast include Raveena Tandon, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Dutt, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal.
It's important to highlight that Christmas 2024 won't mark the first instance of a box office clash between these two superstars. Back in 2007, Akshay's "Welcome," which initiated the franchise under Firoz Nadiadwala's production, faced off against Aamir's "Taare Zameen Par." Interestingly, both films achieved commercial success despite the clash.
In a more recent instance, Aamir and Akshay found themselves in another clash in 2022. Aamir's comedy drama "Laal Singh Chaddha," featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan, was released on August 11, coinciding with the release of Akshay and Aanand L. Rai's "Raksha Bandhan." Regrettably, neither of these films managed to perform well at the box office.
Aaamir Khan’s Career Break
In November of the previous year, Aamir Khan acknowledged that he had been devoted to his work for 35 years, which had taken a toll on his loved ones. In light of this, he made the decision to take a break from acting for about a year, in order to prioritize spending time with his family. He expressed his eagerness to engage more actively as a producer rather than an actor during this period. He had also mentioned his project "Champions."
Currently, Aamir Khan and Dinesh Vijan are in advanced discussions about producing a biopic centered on public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. According to sources, the process of casting for the biopic is likely to commence before the end of the year, with production scheduled for 2024. The insider added that although Aamir was contemplating leading the biopic himself, it's uncertain at this stage whether he will star in the film or produce it with another actor taking on the lead role.
