Many celebrities/actors are known to love cricket. What many may not know, however, is that there are also cricket players that like to act. While there are plenty of cricket players dedicated to the sport, there are players who have found a talent outside the field. Many prominent players retired and have made many appearances in films, but some players still play on the field while also taking chances to play a role on screen:

Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan is an Indian cricketer who plays as a left-handed opening batsman and occasionally captains the India National cricket team. He captains Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League and plays for Delhi in first-class cricket.

In November 2022, Shikhar Dhawan made his debut in Bollywood with Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha's upcoming film 'Double XL.' It is an Indian Hindi-language comedy film directed by Satramm Ramani and Dhawan made an appearance as himself. When talking about the film, he stated how the film made a deep impact on him, and thus he agreed to the project.

Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar is an Indian former international cricketer who captained the Indian national team. Known as the Master Blaster of cricket, Tendulkar is regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. Sachin played the lead role in the biographical film ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ which is based on his own life. It was released on May 26, 2017, and shown on more than 2800 screens worldwide, resulting in many shattered box-office records.

Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh is an Indian retired cricketer and cricket commentator who played for the Indian national cricket team from 1998 - 2016. He was roped in to play a significant role in Karthik Yogi’s Dikkilona, which stars Santhanam in the lead. Dikkiloona is a 2021 Indian Tamil-language science fiction. According to an interview with the director, Harbhajan’s association with Chennai Super Kings, along with his love for Tamil culture, was what made him the apt choice for the film.

S. Sreesanth

S. Sreesanth a.k.a. Shanthakumaran Nair Sreesanth, is a former Indian cricketer who played all forms of the game. In first-class cricket, he played for Kerala. In the Indian Premier League, he played for the Rajasthan Royals. In 2017, the former player made his Bollywood debut in the Indian Hindi-language erotic thriller ‘Aksar 2.’ Before that Sreesanth made his Tollywood debut with a movie titled ‘Team 5’. ‘Team 5’ is a 2017 Indian Malayalam-language film directed by Suresh Govind.

Irfan Pathan

Irfan Pathan is a retired Indian cricketer that played as a bowling all-rounder. He was also a member of the Indian cricket team that won the inaugural 2007 ICC Twenty20 World Cup and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. After he retired in 2012, he became a Commentator, Cricket Analyst, Actor, and Dancer. In 2022 it was reported that Pathan would have a role in the Tamil movie 'Cobra.' The film was released in August 2022, and Pathan portrayed the role of an InteInterpol agent in this film.
